Bookmaker margin calculator
Enter the decimal odds of all outcomes of one market. You get the margin (overround) and the fair odds without it.
How the margin is worked out
Each price stands for a probability: 1 ÷ decimal odds. In a fair market the probabilities of all outcomes add up to 100%. A bookmaker's prices add up to more; the part above 100% is the margin, also called the overround or vig.
The fair odds remove it in proportion: each outcome's probability is divided by the total, and the fair price is 1 ÷ that share.
Use it on two-way markets (over / under, a handicap) and three-way ones (home, draw, away). All outcomes of the market must be entered, or the result means nothing.
